OUR VISION

A future where individuals and families across diverse communities have access to safe, affordable housing and the essential resources necessary for achieving long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2003, A Place-2-Live, Inc. began with a heartfelt commitment to helping vulnerable populations in our community. Initially started as a for-profit organization, we transformed into a nonprofit to better meet the needs of those we serve. Our journey has been shaped by both our experiences and a strong passion for making a difference.

When we launched in 2003, the rental market presented a unique opportunity. With low rents and high vacancy rates, landlords were open to working with us to find reliable tenants and guarantee rent payments. This partnership not only ensured a steady income for landlords but also helped us provide stable housing for individuals and families facing significant challenges.

OUR APPROACH

A Place-2-Live, Inc. (AP2L) provides affordable housing solutions for individuals and families facing obstacles such as poor credit, past evictions, felony records, and challenges in the child welfare system. We support survivors of domestic violence, those displaced by natural disasters, and the unhoused in need of stability. Our three-phase program—application screening, workshops, and program review—equips clients with resources for long-term self-sufficiency. Since launching in 2003, we have fostered partnerships that offer guaranteed rental income to landlords and reliable housing to clients, creating a foundation for enduring stability and community support.

OUR IMPACT

By providing secure, permanent housing, A Place-2-Live, Inc. (AP2L) enhances educational access, promotes employment, and improves community health and safety, reducing homelessness and its associated stigma. Our structured three-phase program—application screening, workshops, and program review—has significantly increased housing retention among clients, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach. Partnerships with local organizations and government agencies enable us to offer job training and financial literacy, creating lasting impacts for families and individuals. Since our founding in 2003, we have built a network of landlords and community allies, guaranteeing rental income and housing stability, transforming lives and benefiting the entire community.

LOOKING AHEAD

Over the past 21 years, A Place-2-Live, Inc. (AP2L) has been recognized for its transformative impact, helping countless individuals and families secure stable housing. To support continued growth and reach more people, we are enhancing partnerships, exploring new grant opportunities, and strengthening our financial literacy programs. We are also investigating innovative housing solutions like tiny homes and modular units to provide cost-effective, sustainable options for our community. This work is rooted in our structured three-phase program, which includes application screening, workshops, and a program review, all designed to promote long-term self-sufficiency and stability.

Reflecting on our journey, AP2L remains committed to positive change by lowering homelessness, increasing housing retention rates, and reducing taxpayer costs for emergency services. By collaborating with local organizations and government agencies, we expand services to include job training and financial literacy programs, further supporting our clients’ success. These initiatives benefit not only our clients but also the broader community, creating a more inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
